We are pleased to welcome your “well-behaved” four-legged family member to Pine Grove.  Dogs are the predominant guests and the following comments are especially directed to them; however, cats are also very welcome.

We are dog lovers ourselves; however, but not everyone else is, so we try to acknowledge this and not stress or offend others unduly.  Our own dogs are “Murphy”, a German Wire Hair Pointer, and “Martha” a Wire Hair Fox Terrier.

For the pleasure and safety of all pets and pet owners visiting Pine Grove we would request that you observe the following:

As you can imagine, there is a period of adjustment for all the dogs at the resort when they meet each other for the first time, and we would request that your dog not be allowed to leap unattended out of the vehicle immediately upon arrival.

Your dog will love the hiking trails throughout our 200 acre property.  This is a chance for them to get some exercise and to enjoy all the new smells.  Also, your dog may love the water, and we encourage you to throw a stick or play with them while at the same time being conscious of other cottagers or dogs that may be in the water too.

Take your dog to “Dog Patch”, for some fun and exercise.  At “Dog Patch” you will find a small agility course complete with Jumps, A frame, Dog Walk, and Weave Poles to entertain you and your dog.  A picnic area is also included here for your convenience.

Please “poop and scoop”.

What we really want is for your pet and yourself to be happy and have fun.  If your dog is accustomed to being with you and you leave it in the cottage while you go to the beach or out in the boat or tour the countryside they may fret and bark.  A barking dog can be very unnerving for others to listen to, so we just hope that you will understand and do what you can to avoid an upset dog.

Please do not let your dog run loose on the property.  We request that your dog be on a leash at all times on the property and that you be with it.  Your dog may be well schooled and obedient, but it may meet other dogs or people that are nervous of it.

Please do not let your dog up on the furniture or beds.  As you can imagine, dog and cat hair can be a real challenge to remove and although our housekeeping staff are very diligent we don’t wish to make their job more difficult on changeover.
