Are you ready? Are you sitting down? Good! Cuz I have some news for you!
After months of confusion & uncertainty we now have the green light to open!
We are very happy to now be able to take reservations. Bookings are by the week, Saturday-Saturday.
There will be policies and procedures that we have to follow, and we most likely will not be able to supply linens at this time...however the ability to welcome guests back to Pine Grove has lifted our spirits today...and likely yours too!
Thinking of my parents today, and the joy they uncovered in 1971 when they "found" Pine Grove Camp, while searching for a cottage to purchase. After bottoming out their car on a road so rough it was more of a trail, they came to the Grove...and the rest is history. They did not set out to be pioneers in the industry, but my father has poured his heart and soul into every aspect of the property, supported by my Mom he gave back to Industry as President of NOTO & the local business association & on the Northern Committee of OTMP and he has dedicated his life to welcoming guests to Pine Grove, making sure their stay is warm & memorable. My father instilled this pride of place in me, the love of the land so deep that it becomes your heartbeat, grateful for every sunrise and every moment spent connected to the wilderness...committed to a life welcoming others and sharing the connection to land & family.
I carry this tradition onwards & into a new world where what we offer in Northern Ontario will be a much sought after solace to people haggard and stressed by challenges of city living.
49 years of the Grove, and while the current situation is crushing...in the future shines a light.
A right of passage. Iconic Canadian Cottage Vacations. Catching frogs, fishing, family time, board games and lifetime friendships. The North is healing. It brings people together. We need that right now. #tourismmatters #portloring
We still have not heard any news about opening...but we will post and blog and shout it from the rooftops when the government becomes more transparent on what's up for our sector. Your safety and that of our staff is of the utmost importance. We miss you! ❤🇨🇦🌲🐟🦌

We definitely live in new & challenging times in 2020 thanks to Covid-19!
It is essential that we all keep on top of the important safety measures and social distancing needed to stop the spread of coronavirus.
Pine Grove is currently crafting a plan for a safe re-opening scenario later on this spring, however we do anticipate some challenges, updates and changes as the pandemic restrictions are eased by the Federal & Provincial governments.
Information changes by the day and we are currently in a hopeful state of flux.
We do anticipate continued social distancing measures once we re-open, so please expect there to be some changes to operating procedures and guest activities as we adjust to this "new normal". The measures that we take, will be to focus on the health, comfort & safety of our guests.
Please check back for updates and visit our Facebook page for the most up to date information.
Also remember that Pine Grove and the Great Canadian Wilderness of Port Loring will be here and waiting for you when we are able to bust out of our social isolation bubble!
Health, Happiness, Hope & Friendship!

The local ice rink at the Argyle Community Centre has free skating and they also have groomed snowshoe & cross-country ski trails for you to enjoy.

Hilary has some availability at her Bed & Breakfast The Lost Fox located in the town of Port Loring and welcomes stays of 1 night or more, advanced reservations required. www.thelostfox.ca
Our region is known for having one of the largest herds of white tailed deer in the province, this year they are everywhere and create wonderful opportunities for those who love wildlife and those who enjoy photography.
There is so much to be grateful for this year, we are always so thankful to spend our days in the Great Canadian Wilderness.
This is one of the best times to vacation in Northern Ontario as the crisp fall days are perfect for hiking in the woods and taking in the ballet of Fall colour. In the evening, sitting in front of a roaring fire warms the body and soul.
Thanksgiving is a bust time at Pine Grove with many people getting together with friends and family to celebrate the season and kinship.
After Thanksgiving the SunDog Gallery packs up and Hilary will have a couple pop up shops in time for the holidays as well as attending a Christmas event at the Port Loring Legion. At this time we also start winding down for the season and begin to close the cottages. This time of year is bittersweet, as we look forward to a winter break, but miss seeing the many new faces every week at The Grove.
If you are interested in booking for the 2019 season, it is best to contact us early. This year many guests have already booked their vacation with us for the summer & into next fall and we are humbled by that. To secure your cabin we require a $300 deposit. email@example.com to inquire.
Those of you who have come to Pine Grove over the past 13 years probably have a fondness for our Wire Fox Terrier Martha, who is Bill Chambers sidekick. Martha had a strange thing happen to her, where a tumour encapsulated her eye over Christmas. It turns out she has cancer...so we are doing all we can to make her remaining days enjoyable. We have had her eye removed and hoping that she bounces back from surgery and does not have another occurance.
We have a new dog at Pine Grove! Hilary was helping to re-home a litter of Northern Dogs, one of the homes fell through, and Sema Hilary's rescue dog fell in love with the puppy.
His name is Bookaboo, named after a children's TV show. This is the most relaxed and laid back dog we have ever owned..."Booky is a true couch potato. We look forward to introducing him to customers at Woofstock, and at the resort during the season.
